Employment:
2003-Present:  Professor Emeritus, Soil and Water Science Department, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida.  Taught or co-taught, through Fall 2005, a senior-level course in soil, water and land use; a senior-level course in soil and water conservation; and a graduate-level course in environmental soil, water and land use.  Continued to be involved with State Land Judging Contest for 4-H and FFA members through the 2008 Contest. 

1980-2002:
  Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and Extension Specialist in Soils and Land Use, Soil and Water Science Department, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida.  Primary responsibilities in extension education and teaching.  Carried out extension programs in the areas of soils and land use, soil survey interpretations, and 4-H/FFA Land Judging.  Taught a senior-level course in soil, water and land use.  Coordinated technical aspects of Florida's State Land Judging Contest, 1982-present.  Served as Undergraduate Coordinator for the Soil and Water Science Department, 1994.  Served as Department Chair, 1995-2000. 

1976-1980:  Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Soil Science, Oregon State University.  Research concerned with modern agricultural erosion in the Willamette Valley, including investigations in watershed hydrology and sediment discharge, redistribution of cesium-137 as an indicator of erosional history, and soils/geomorphology of study site.  Coach/Assistant Coach, Oregon State University Soil Judging Team. 

1974-1976:  Soil Scientist USDA-Soil Conservation Service, Erie County, NY, Soil Survey.

1972-1974:  Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Soil Science, Oregon State University.  Research included characterization of soils and studies of soil-landscape relationships in H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, central Western Cascades.

1968-1972:  Military service, U.S. Pacific Fleet.
